What is my dog trying to tell me?

Lately she has been very VERY excited. She seems happy but it's on a level i've never seen her get at before. She will get like overly hyper and roll around on the couch jetting her legs in the air like a spasm. And she will slam her body into the walls and then walk along side them really perky. I wondered if maybe she's itching cause she's going through this like monster shed right now. But still it's a really weird change of behavior from her normal calm self. any other reasons her behavior could have just shifted? is this normal?
