Is it a sign of how ill informed someone is when they suggest that man is killing the planet?

They say these sorts of things and then they wait for their pat on the back and high fives. When someone says something like this, I just shake my head at the ignorance. Obviously geologists realize the planet isn't alive. We aren't making the planet unlivable. In fact, we are making it more livable. My evidence is 6 billion strong and growing. Their evidence is drivel. They think that drivel rises to enlightenment and truth. In fact it is closer to close mindedness. Words mean things. At least they do to me.
