I have a marina iud and....?

i have this iud and the other day i got a stabbing feeling in my lower abdomen and the day before i had light pink nothing like a period and after the stabing feeling i was bleeding super heavy and my periods are light if i get one the bleeding lasted from last night till 2 hours ago has anyone had this problem or have any idea why
